JF, But in and increasingly competitive world, the US is increasingly handicapped by our debt and our image. I think they are right. I personally think we are much more handicapped by our self-doubt and self-loathing that masquerades as introspection. The debt will only lead to conditions that compound that defeatist attitude, while concerns over our "image" will only lead to empty policies that favor style over substance. At least we agree, America's dominance will indeed decline in an increasingly competitive world. The only question is how we face it. Tenchusatsu
