There are always people who seek something beyond the simple and mundane. Robert Service wrote about them in a simple and clean way that involved experiential connection. Anyone who has walked lonely through a forest of snow understands Service…where the huge pines are your strength or your funeral bower--and the choice is there.

Others can understand the same profound suffering and choice while sitting in a home full of art and “power”.

We talk on this thread about “God” and about mice and about DNA. Well…we are really talking about something bigger than all those creatures. We are talking about our fears and our hopes and our dreams--and our burden of having minds.

ALL Gods are OUR ideas. Some of the ideas are good…and some are ugly. But people continue to divide one another on those ideas and to always return to a basic RACISM. I guess we could call it the bad side of “junk” DNA.

People like Voltaire did not have the freedom of speech you and I have. Can you imagine him waking up every morning to his world of idiots…mentally urinating all over the planet?

Well…I am going through some battles right now for justice, myself. But I am no Voltaire. Because I always knew it was useless to try in the big tent. And I grew up in an era where the there were still great people. Now they are equivalent to everyone from Oprah to some Rapper “Poet” stringing together piss talk.

Oh yes…I understand why Thoreau went to the Woods and the Pond. And I understand why Whitman said he could turn and live with animals: Both of them running from the stench and hypocrisy. But they, too, died. But perhaps they live in you and in me and in others…for a little while because of junk DNA…
