NEW YORK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Kohl's Corp. (KSS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) , which runs a chain of mid-priced department stores, said Thursday its January sales at stores open at least a year fell 1.6 percent.

Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin-based Kohl's said total sales for the four weeks ended Jan. 29 rose 11.2 percent from the year-earlier period to $596.9 million.

Kohl's said it is comfortable with the fourth-quarter earnings per share estimate of 93 cent a share given by analysts.

For the fourth quarter, the company said total sales rose 14.5 percent, while same-store sales rose 1.3 percent.
