Stand your ground, zeta. Remember, they can't reach through that screen and strangle you. And if they could, you could strangle them back.

The rules on PMs are much broader than posts. You can say things in them that would get you suspended in a post. HOWEVER, threats and revealing personal information about other people are still TOU violations.
