I usually agree with most of what you say Russ, but "gushi girls" - that's where I draw the line dammit!

Russ, there is a huge difference between Japanese bonds and US treasuries.

With one at 4%+ and the other barely above zero (in fact AT zero on short term denominations) IMO the consequences of shorting Japanese bonds and being wrong just HAS to be less.

The only possible drawback is that losses are in the YEN not in US$ IF one was wrong and covered for a loss.

Gains are also in YEN of course so perhaps one sees this as an advantage!
