36 Israelis commit suicide-Report in January alone: 1/30/2005 10:30:00 PM GMT This growing phenomenon is a direct result of the deteriorating security situation in Israel According to a recently released Israeli report, 36 Israeli have committed suicide since the beginning of this month, including ten last week. The report said that the number of the Israelis who committed suicide since 1st November 2004 till 14th January this year was put at 108, and mantained that some 13% of the Israeli youths planned to commit suicide while 5% had actually attempted to do so. According to the report, no tangible solution for this phenomenon is expected in the near future, especially with the financial hardships, Israel’s psychological services department is currently facing. Recent studies found that the growing number of suicide cases amongst the Israelis was a direct result of the deteriorating security and economic situation at the Jewish state.
