>> they may not win another election in the next 20 years.

Or more. For several years now I've believed the party was self destructing, and at this point it is clearly in total disarray.

You've got Dean, Gore, Kennedy, Pelosi, Boxer, and Kerry who look like total idiots. Not partial. Total. Not only are they frustrated with defeat after defeat, but the appear to be so bitter that they would wish failure on our military to assist them in regaining control.

Then, you've got Bush and the most competent foreign policy team in my lifetime. There is actually the possibility that you'll see Condi Rice as a candidate in the next presidential election, and the Blacks will have no choice but to support her. Imagine that. The black vote going for a Republican.

Iraq will flourish under Democracy -- although it will clear take a while for the terrorists to be removed. And it will spread throughout the region. Who's next?

The leave early crowd has always been tejek, John, zofsilence, and Alighieri...A.K.A. the liberal left.

You have that wrong too...the "liberal left" has argued for 2 years that we should never have been there and that the execution, the international price America has paid and will pay, will have dire consequences for decades to come, and, most importantly, the more than 1400 soldiers and untold Iraqi civilians needed not die at our actions.

On that last point... you have no idea how well this election resonates with me, particularly if it hastens the exit of our troops. To say that I and others on this thread would wish ill on the success of the mission, however misguided it may be, is truly offensive and worthy of a mean spirited right wing mentality that has destroyed whatever unity we may have had and blares its venom on the airwaves of the nation 24/7.
