Revisionist history now has it Kennedy was getting ready to do that when he was killed.

Throughout JFK and LBJ's tours as POTUS there was never any discussion about bringing troops home.

This whole "exit strategy" by the Dems is a "gotcha," of course. If you give them a date they can then hammer it as too long from now, and if we run over they can really go at Bush.
