Agreement for arrest of suspected militants reached in S.Waziristan

PESHAWAR: The peace agreement between the government and the Mehsud tribe has been given the final touches.

Governor NWFP Lieutenant General Retd Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has also given the approval of the six-point agreement. The 21-member delegation of the Mehsud tribe from S.Waziristan met Iftikhar Shah in Peshawar, which was led by Maulana Ainullah. Secretary FATA Brig Retd Mehmood Shah and political agent S.Waziristan Ismatullah Gandapur were also present in the meeting.

P.A. S.Waziristan told Geo that the draft of the agreement was discussed during the meeting and agreement on all points has been reached. After the agreement with the Mehsud tribe Abdullah Mehsud and his aide Baitullah Mehsud would lay down their weapons, the tribe would not give shelter to any Pakistani or foreign suspected militant and would provide every possible aid to security officials. The Jirga told the governor that Baithullah Mehsud and his accomplices are ready to give up their weapons. They said that we are always loyal to Pakistan and would continue this tradition of patriotism.

Pakistan and India must work together for trade promotion: Indian delegation

LAHORE: Pakistan and India by establishing trade relations can become a center of attraction for investors all over the world and in this regard both nations must work together.

Leader of the 24-member Indian trade delegation S.Sen stated this while addressing traders at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce. He said that for the promotion of joint trade traders from both countries would have to work together and in this connection exchange of trade delegations from both countries can play a very important role because in this way both counties can analyze each other’s markets.

The senior vice president of the Lahore chamber Sohail Lashari termed the visit of the Indian delegation as a breath of fresh air and said that Government of Pakistan is trying to remove the trade hurdles between both countries. He further said that Pakistan is under no threat form the huge Indian market and instead the Pakistani traders would get access to a big market to export fruits, vegetables, rice and plastic goods. The Indian delegation would stay in Pakistan till 4th February.
