"..I would be curious to hear your reactions to the author's observations."

You ever read Mein Kampf? Especially the parts where he writes about alliances and the role and powers of the leader?

stormfront.org;

Yup. That's why I find what's happening in the US so chilling. So much of Hitler's thinking is being repeated now......updated of course. Here's an example of just one passage......and its representative of so many others in Mein Kampf:

"Thus we may explain the fact that since 1918 the men who have held the reins of government adopted an entirely negative attitude towards foreign affairs and that the business of the State has been almost constantly conducted in a systematic way against the interests of the German nation."

Flash forward to 2005......the right now is blaming the UN and suggesting that past administrations when they worked with the UN and other alliances were working against the best interest of the US. Bush is isolating the US just as Hitler isolated Germany.

And I am convinced the current players of the right are very aware of the similarities to Mein Kampf. Not long ago, they moved very quickly to defuse the notion that Bush was Hitler reincarnated by suggesting that when you call Bush a Hitler, you've already lost the argument. Excuse me? As if!

The ultimate irony is that I believe the neocon ideology was started by a Jew, Leo Strauss. And many of its admirers are Jewish.

Should this truly be a new rise in fascism, this time around it will be the Muslims and gays who will be the scapegoats.
