When someone has to use their life savings and then some for medical expenses. This will effectively restrict freedom for that person. No it doesn't. If I am poor I can still enjoy a high level of freedom. If they have to burn through their life savings and go in to debt, they will have a lower quality of life, and in general its a negative experience but they are not facing government oppression, or unjust aggressive infringement of their rights (or if they are it has nothing to do with their insurance situation).
