Hello Frank

Re: management doing a better job of disseminating MTX news. I had a conversation with MTX's President, Peter Gregory on precisely that subject in November, who replied that management really wasn't all that interested in promotion or expenditures required to do so. He, the Board and CF were focused on producing results in the field and little else.

While admitting they could do a better job of attending to small investor's concerns in that regard, PG indicated that MTX's many large and institutional investors were apparently satisfied with their current approach. He also indicated that quite often, it was a strategic decision to hold news rather than give competitors any advantage flowing from their efforts and certainly to hold news pending accumulation of any additional claims that field results suggested they should pursue.

While CF runs the exploration side and is a significant investor, it is my understanding that he has little to do with company management which is Mr. Gregory's and the Board's responsibility.

I'm not sure if you recall but PG was the original head of Ashton when it expanded into Canada and (if I recall correctly) was concurrently pursuing diamonds in Mauritania when Rex Diamonds was making noise over there. PG is a very knowledgeable and experienced diamond miner.

We should probably also remember that CF did precisely the same thing with Diamet Minerals from 1980 to 1992 (+/-) when he was chasing indicator minerals from the Mackenzie River over to Point Lake. His shareholders suffered through some very lean news years then and that appears to be the way he keeps well healed competitors from gaining any advantage. Anyway, who can argue with his results?

Having said that, unlike DM in 1980, MTX's tenure is not unsecured, however, there is unsecured adjacent ground and should MTX field results point management in that direction, PG indicated management wished to retain the freedom and option of staking the claims they wanted without obstruction or competition.

Personally, I find it difficult to find fault with anyone who proves what they do produces results. I'll just have to wait and see what comes from this winter's and spring's efforts.

Regards

Vaughn
