The principle that *no one* should be above the law --- not even a President (that's what our founding fathers said about King George....), stands.

It's a separate issue if there are foolish and unnecessary or counter-productive laws --- of course there are, and they should be done away with.

But ALL citizens should be subject to our laws... no free passes, no 'rights of Kings'.

(PS --- if you are looking for silly laws, in North Carolina it was once illegal to drink milk on a train, or to 'plow a cotton field with an elephant'. Of course, Alabama had a prohibition in it's very Constitution against inter-racial marriages until quite recently --- so did many other states not too far back.)
