Hi Amy, just to clarify -- when I posted that I was being a little sarcastic. The cost to build each new generation of weapon system far outweighs the foreign military sales we get from the obselete version.

In the "old days" DoD technology spending was the incubator for technologies used in everyday life. The best known of these is the Internet. Its still true today, but if ya ask me, not as much as it used to be, especially in the areas of information technology.
