It does seem to produce floods of endorphines, doesn't it? I've been circling the vegetarian tent for 20+ years, spending most of my time inside. In food science there's an aspect call "mouth feel" and is only simulated by other oils like Olestra (yuck! never eaten the stuff). If you take a tablespoon of flax seed oil before a meal, you'll definitely eat less than you would without it. 30 minutes before is good. It's only 100 calories but it starts a chemical reaction that says you got enough essential fatty acids. You can bulk up on fiber. You can pig out on nuts. But nothing gives you the "you can stop eating now" message like meat. IMO.

I have a couple of suggestions about feeling really full and satisfied and eating a vegetarian diet.

First, make sure you get enough protein. Boca burgers taste really good. I have friends who eat one every day, in fact.

Earth Balance vegan margarine tastes really good but has no trans fats. The whipped variety tastes just like butter, I think. Really great on baked potatoes! Potatoes are one of the most filling foods, for the amount of calories consumed, and have more protein than most vegetables.

Beans and lentils are very filling, too. There are thousands of good vegetarian recipes for them on the web.

Where I live, there are really good vegetarian Indian buffet restaurants, and a good Chinese buffet with a lot of vegetarian dishes. When I get bored or am really hungry and want to feel full, I go to these restaurants.

In general terms, be sure you get enough fat and enough protein in your diet. Fat and protein take longer to digest than carbohydrates, so you do feel more satisfied longer.
