Thank you, Holly, and Alan Smithee for the kind words you exchanged about me -- several months ago!

I just now came upon them doing an SI search for my favorite subject. Me.

My diagnosis (MRI) was a "massive tear" of the rotator cuff. The ortho surgeon at first said he couldn't fix it. Then, after consulting with his partners, he said they thought they could fix it with a probability of better than 50-50. I actually signed up for that but then changed my mind. I decided to see if evolution might take care of it. Proving the theory, it actually has gotten much better, although I still can't make the high reaches. However, I know this thing took a long time with the monkeys, and I prefer patience to the knife.

In the meantime I have been lurking on the thread from time to time. I just haven't thought of anything to say. I'm just a man of few words. One of these years something will pop into my head and I'll speak my piece.

Thanks for thinking of me, and my best wishes to you and Alan, as well as all the other fine folk that hang out here.
