Yes, people are different.

$40.00 isn't the idea either. $40.00 is a drop in the bucket, but with customer service comes the responsibility to get it right the first time. I'm here to make sure they do. And as my example illustrates......sometimes they don't. I gladly spend a few hours a month balancing our personal accounts and our business accounts to make sure everything is on the up and up. I like to square what they say with what I say, and I also like to crunch numbers. As a result, I live with peace of mind....a little wealthier and a little wiser. -g-

This isn't the first time I've had this problem, and it isn't always the same institutions that made the errors. In all instances the error was human. If you don't CYA no one is going to do it for you. I guess some don't feel the need?

It's hell having to babysit the Bank, but someone has to do it.

;) M

kholt, For many people, it is the principle rather than the amount of money involved. If someone makes a mistake that costs a client money, regardless of the amount, that person either will not realize a mistake has been made, or did know, and now knows that he can get away with it, and go for a bigger chunk the next time around. Accountability is one of the major factors in business, and should be insisted upon.

If you have so much money that a loss means nothing to you, that is all well and good, but if one knows what they are doing, it only takes about 5 minutes to reconcile a bank statement. Banks, and other financial institutions, depend on their computers to do everything for them, but a computer, as with any other machine, functions only as well as the operator is competent.

Just for the hell of it, I will wrangle for a nickel just to show them that they are not perfect, and subject to errors.
