How old were you in'66, when the S.Vietnamese had their elections? If you believe that we took over Iraq not because of the oil reserves & Israel's neo-cons, but to promote democracy, you're a babe in the woods.

It is hard to take a bipartisan approach to fixing the stuff Bush unilaterally screwed up. Especially when he won't let you in on the planning or discussions. The Chimp wants a rubber stamp and he's been getting it from gutless Democrats.

The Iraqi elections were a joke. The people were certainly brave to vote, but they did it to keep their food rations, not because they love the warlord we put in charge of them. And, remember, they had 83% turnout for the Vietnamese elections. That turned out great, didn't it?

There are differences between Vietnam and Iraq, but they were basically two lying Texan politicians claiming a threat that did not exist (Gulf of Tonkin Resolution vs. the WMD scam) to sucker the nation into a mess not easily resolved.
