Wow, you need to read up on history a bit. That's what the thought was in Vietnam and the reason guns were not attached to our fighters. Proved to be a mistake.

Are you worried about the $50 billion Russian defense expenditures vs. our $466 billion? (not including off-the-books expenditures for Iraq) Paranoid a little? Bought into the lies of the military-industrial complex? Including the fearmongering about the capabilities of the old Soviet Union, which it's now known were wildly overestimated and flogged.

Once again you resort to references about paranoia, the "military complex", fearmongering, etc. I was only speaking to your assertion that the F-18 would have no problem with any other fighter in the world, which I think I have proven to be false.
