SS is a victim of the budget morass, not a cause.

SS is not the cause of the current budget deficit, in fact it makes the current budget deficit smaller. However Social Security and most likely to a greater extent Medicare do contribute greatly to the "budget morass". The future obligations that come with them are a bigger issue then the current budget deficit.
