Hi Henry: I may be dodging the BIG question, but (it's ground school kind of a question): what the reason for all those gazzilions of chicken eggs getting poked? Why not some horse like in old times? Cant the good ol' vaccinia help us one more time? I'm sure these three questions exposed between 6 and 12 fallacies in my mode of thinking(yr reaction - "dn, how am I supposed to keep this* kind of dodos alive") My concern of course is the reaction time (of 6 months) to a given (exploding) viral genome.
