Actually what she has said is a lie. President Bush has suggested using a more realistic index of inflation that may result in lower growth in benefits.

You see people who write falsehoods and wonder if they are intentionally lying, or just shouting out their ignorance.


Good point. Similar point could be made that the current calculation is invalid because it overstates the rate at which the benefits should rise, and as a result, the retirees need to give back a big chunk of their checks. I guess that idea would not be very popular.
