Invading Iran - with what? The three guys back in Washington who haven't been to Iraq yet? The troops and the money are spread way too thin. Easier to bomb a few things and call it a "victory". And an easy substitute to the hard work it would take to coax Iran back into the real community of nations. But the US gave up on that community too, so wtf, maybe George will go for it anyway. We can always borrow more to pay for it. PS Shibumi was a great book. Trevanian's lesser-known "The Main" is also great reading.
