Put your cursor in the message number box (ex. [3373]) and hit Enter. That will take you to single-message mode. After filing it (or marking it "Keep"), you can then Back your way to where you left off.

Put the cursor in the input box with the message number ... and press Return. Do your File ... and then Back as necessary to go back where you were.
