There was a King who was really struggling to deal with his realm but sincerely sought to do things in a just and fair manner. Someone suggested that he visit an old sage who lived in a cave in the distant mountains. So, off he went. When he got there he shared a bowl of rice with the old dude and asked for his advice on several matters.

Of course the wise old sage had the perfect solution to each of the Kings problems. The King was so fascinated that he became overwhelmed with admiration for the cave dweller.

The King said, “All that is mine I freely give to you, as you have proven yourself to be the most deserving. I give you also my entire Kingdom. You have done so much for me today, I will be forever grateful. Now what can I do for you.”

The wise man answered, “Go run my Kingdom for me and leave me to live in Peace.”
