Right wingers think creationism is on a par with science and that some schlub talking head's opinion is the equivalent of academic peer reviewed research. The obvious problem with the US of A is that we have too many ignorant, lazy people. The only question is, what do we do about them? Canada won't take them. Rove refuses to educate them (that would turn them in to Dems as he says). What to do. What to do.

No doubt, in the animal kingdom there are bonds between animals that are not all hetero sexual in nature. In herd and pack animals you have one lucky fellow who gets to have his way with all the females. And look at the bees... one drone one time ever and boom millions of baby bees. He goes back with the others to lounge around while the females feed and pamper them for the rest of their lives. Mean while who are all those other young dudes hanging with and what are all the females doing when not in heat. The birth rate ratio in Asia is 117 boys to 100 girls. This phenomenon is spreading world wide and will have very interesting consequenses for global culture in the future. We have become tainted in our willingness to show genuine intimate affection in our culture because of how it might 'look' and especially what the authorities might do to us in some cases. Most of us don't want to be gay and we don't want to 'look' gay either. Nor do we want to look like pedophiles or philanderers, even though there are plenty of times in which we feel affection for children and adults all over the place. I suspect you would have a hard time finding examples of fudge packing in the animal kingdom. Our inability to comment on the prevalence of that practice in modern human culture is another expression of how tainted we have become. Since this seems to be the real issue for most people who are sensitive about gay stuff.
