Ted that post didn't make a lot of sense.

You said - "It may not be half the budget but its by far the biggest line item... " (It meaning defense)

I said "It isn't. We spend more on Social Security, and if we don't yet we will in the coming years spend more (eventually a lot more) on Medicare."

Then you said - "Oh my God, Tim, you must be right even though you admit in the same sentence that what you're asserting may not, in fact, be true. Typical, rightie mumbo jumbo spin........you all are predictable if nothing else."

Pay close attention to that. You can probably figure out your error yourself.

But if its to complex I'll simplify for you.

You say defense "is by far the biggest line item".

I say "we spend more on social security". I also say Medicare will eventually be higher. But Social security is higher NOW. So social security is the biggest item in the budget. And even if social security didn't exist Medicare is close enough to defense to not make defense bigger "by far".

So in other words I did not in any way shape or form "admit in the same sentence that what you're asserting may not, in fact, be true." I didn't admit it may no in fact be true because there is nothing to "admit". It is in fact true.

Here is a suggestion. When you look at my posts and think you see something that gives you an "Oh my God" reaction, it might pay to reread the post carefully to see if your reaction is based on reality or misunderstanding.
