As I mentioned in the last post, I was into geology when younger (I wanted to be a forest ranger, but figured that I needed to make a living!). My grandfather on my Mom's side was the President of the San Diego Rock and Mineral Society a long, long time ago and my grandmother had no appreciation his "old rocks". I'm sure I'd croak right now if I knew how much value my birthright had that granny just gave away. I just have two little shoe-box sized ones left with some unpolished and unmounted samples. The value could have be high six figures even, I suspect. Hopefully not.
