mish,

A question regarding the dollar when we get Greenspasm's pause that refreshes.

I believe the dollar will begin to decline again, and last time that was trumpeted as a reason for stocks to rally. What do you think the dollar does?

My bigger point is that nothing seems to stop the equities from holding this range. And I think that is due in part to an effort to prevent a decline before Bush can promote his bs SS policies.

I too am frustrated with this market, and confused, as usual.

So long treasuries rally on signs of a sluggish economy. That in turn helps fuel still more housing bubble and stock market inflation. Which will make the ultimate deflationary bust even worse.

BTW I have been out of the treasury market (neither long nor short) for quite some time. But I suspect a drop below 4% would represent an excellent shorting opportunity.
