I think you've captured my concern. It really has little to do with Hillary as a person, but her image and ability to generate votes. She is off-putting for a lot of people and one could attribute it to simply being something other than a Laura Bush clone. I was off-put by the co-President thing, though. Big mistake. Sounded like Evita Peron.

The Democrats (and left-leaning independents such as myself) need to realize that there is a bigger prize to be had by winning the election than to make any symbolic statements about women's rights.

Get a Democrat in there, brush the dust and cobwebs off the ERA, make women's Civil Rights the law of the land, and continue to put candidates in place that can win. That's the only "truth" in politics.

Daily blah bl’blah bla bla…from your ole pal jewel.

"... attack, attack, attack, dig up and create propaganda and attack... get an investigative committee and fabricate. Who needs it."

Is this the beginning of an era or are we locked into a struggle of tearing down the other side as they do their best to rip us a new one?

Would it be too novel an idea to begin from where we are ... to begin building a society founded on the nobility of the human endeavor?

If not at least let’s clear the air a bit. When we dismiss nobility as an essential element of the human endeavor we invite our baser qualities to rise to the fore ... In order to mate, eat, or live in comfort we must eliminate human obstacles without the restraints of a general compassion for others. We don’t do this in general, we begin by objectifying and demonizing our opponents so that our treatment of them becomes justified.

The nazi’s went home after, incinerating the unclean, torturing prisoners, performing medical ‘experiments’ etc. to their wives and children and were quite loving and gentle in the home. Let’s ask ourselves how they were able to do this … and are we?… do we?
