If we had spent time and money developing oil alternatives over the last decades our current leaders would not have been inclined to invade Iraq.

ISrael has brought us down as a nation . It's support has helped many politicians but that support has not served us well as a nation. The Israelis themselves have turned into terrorists toward the Palestinians. Sharon massacred over 100 women and children several years ago so he represents a negative image in the Arab world. When we support that kind of figure, we bring ourselves down to the level of terrorists. Then we invaded Iraq and killed over 100,000 people..........it doesn't serve well as an example to win friends and influence people in that corner of the world.

I have some friends that are from Palestine and they have relatives that are currently living in Palestine. One of them told me that as a child, his father's apartment was next to a large road or freeway. At night, the Israeli soldiers drove up and down it and fired shots randomly into the buildings. They all had to sleep on the side of the apartment that was opposite the road. These people are not terrorists, they are just working families that since moved to the US and are thriving here.

They refer to their homeland as Israel, not Palestine. I always consider that interesting.
