Charters - that's an interesting observation that more money is available for exploration now. Maybe all the financial engineering that goes on these days does serve a purpose - making it easier to raise capital for risky projects by spreading the risk far.

I understand that there is very little outcrop in the area, so maybe it is true that exploration was not very easy without a lot of modern geophysics.

Hope you are right also about your claim that placer grade reflects the grade of the source material - and that the concentration factor from original the bedrock deposit is around 4:1. Where did this information come from? This is a very important fact to nail down.
