The financial part of Bush's KILL SS PLAN doesn't make any sense. It's not supposed to. It's supposed to kill SS, not save it. Therefore it: - will put the US into debt to the tune of $1-$3 Trillion - ignores the easy fix of raising the income cap for SS contributions - will reduce benefits by 40-100% - provides windfall profits to Wall Street and, in particular, to a small group of Republican-connected brokerages - is only about IDEOLOGY not about FINANCE It's such complete and utter hogwash that even Republicans are running scared from it. Try selling that all you House Republicans up for reelection in 2006.
