My buy stop turns into a market order when it triggers, I think. I'm not sure. Ameritrade does an excellent job of getting my price. I get a lot of partial fills sometimes until the order is complete.

Being in line early gives me priority anyway when the entry target is hit.

Buy Stops - If you are expecting a breakout OR possible good news, converting to a marekt order is best - you might get slippage or a bunch of partial fills, but that often occurs on a big up day, so you want to be on board as much as possible.

With the pricing in pennies we have today, geting fills separated by one or two cents is common.
