Why do you think we need to spend 10 times what any other country in the world does for defense?

- Our need for defense spending doesn't directly depend on what someone else is spending.

- We could spend less dollars and more lives but I'd rather spend a few more dollars.

- The figures are misleading in that countries like China spend a lot that isn't in the defense budget and also in that countries relying on the draft get soldiers for less currency but pay a cost extracting them from producing in other areas of the economy even if the wage they pay is low.

- According to the date on your link we DO NOT spend 10 times what any other country in the world spends for defense.

- We spend more and a lot of other rich countries can get away with spending less because of this fact. Maybe they should share the burden more but they probably will not.

- What does this all have to do with the post you replied to?
