Yes, that is correct. Ladino was the language of the Spanish Jews, basically Castilian mixed up with Hebrew expressions and written in the Hebrew alphabet. It is still spoken by minorities in South America, Middle East and of course Israel.

Famous royalties like Ferdinand and Isabella as well as possibly Columbus spoke Ladino. Cervantes wrote his Don Quixote in Ladino.
If you can read Spanish, learn the Hebrew alphabet and you can read Ladino!
