Where in the world did you come up with such a silly, cockamamie notion? Have you been reading too much Tom Clancy? Empires fall because they go rotten in an economic and financial sense. Not because they are overtaken militarily. I'm shocked at your incapacity to learn the lessons of history. Let us discuss some empires that have failed. Russia: 1991 -- Proximate cause? Bankrupt. The state could no longer provide for its satellites, or its own people and it fell due to internal economic contradictions. No one conquered the USSR. England: 1947 -- The Raj is granted its independence, and the Yankees say Good Riddance to the pestilence of a British Empire. This may have been one of the longest economic declines of any empire not conquered by a military foe in centuries except for...... The Ottoman Empire -- Died 1918 -- Successor state, Ataturk's modern Turkey -- This empire was rotten to the core. For at least four centuries. No countervailing military force could ever overwhelm it. What finally destroyed the Ottoman Empire was its own silliness. It's own self-indulgence. And completely failed leadership. The Hapsburg Empire - Central Europa -- Died, in Sarajevo, 1914. -- Internal contadictions and too much incestuous royal blood did this one in just as it did in France's royal line in 1789. We could go on, couldn't we? The point is that not once has an empire been destroyed by another stronger military force. You do understand that, don't you? No one is going to conquer George Bush. He's too strong for that. What takes down George Bush is his internal contradictions. Just like the USSR, the US is a doomed state. It's only a matter of time before the arrogant and ignorant Bush destroys America.
