Timoshenko is under criminal indictment in Russia for fraud and bribing government officials. In 1996-97 Timoshenko sucked billions from the Ukrainian economy through the re-sale of gas under the protection of her robber-baron patron, former prime minister Pavel Lazarenko.<<
