"Do good intentions sometimes get corrupted by the politicos?"

I'm not sure what you're asking here. I think definitely that to get a bill through Congress that might have started with very good intentions, a lot of wheeling and dealing is done and all sorts of initially unintended pork gets mixed up in it. But that may not be what you are asking at all.

I think Lyndon Johnson had a good heart and good intentions, but he was a very complex man and a real wheeler dealer himself. I have forgotten a lot that I once knew about him. I remember that he definitely had a dark side as well. If anyone who knows more wants to jump in and discuss him, I would be interested.

Thanks for the compliment! There will soon be 100,000 posts at Feelies. I know that a lot of threads have more, but Feelies posts tend to be very much longer than most. I wonder which thread at SI has the most lines of type or whatever. That would be fascinating to find out. Maybe something to do with Qualcomm? I have no idea, really. Does anyone know?
