I could write a book about right wing CHristians that pray to God for money. SOme of the Pastors think that they have to appear to be affluent so that the congregation will think GOd has blessed them..................so what message does that send to the poor folks? Be like them and you'll get rich??????

It's a pet peeve of mine that people walk around and say that God has blessed them with money..........God's son was born in a stable and they don't get the hint?????? They never preach the phrase about how difficult it is for a rich man to get into heaven ( as hard as it is to get a camel through the eye of a needle ).

I have heard many sermons in those southern CHristian churches. One of my sons lives in Houston so I have heard some crazed, money raising pitches from Pastor's. His ex wife was the daughter of a Pastor that sold his church in Ca and kept 9/10 ths of the money. His ex told him that he better pay her alot of child support because God wants her to have nice things!!!!!! He told her , "God can pay it".

The materialism is ludicrous.

They misrepresent Christianity. Jesus said nothing about gays, but he said over and over that wealth doesn't lead to heaven. I'm sure if Jesus were around to see what was practiced in his name, he'd retract his whole religion!

I'm not a Christian, but I've had the privelige of knowing a couple of genuine, practicing Christians. It's a very difficult thing to really practice Christianity - only a few can actually even come close. Yet millions claim to.

Love your enemy. Treat your neighbor as yourself. Turn the other cheek. Not easy things to do.
