Thank you. I don't know when Americans came to believe that SS was to be a pension fund, rather than an insurance against disaster...

If SS is to include everyone (illegals, refugees, disabled, etc etc) including those who have not put money into the system, then everyone in the country should have to participate in SS, because it is then a form of welfare.

If SS is to ONLY include people who have worked and put money into the system, then these are the ONLY people who should be able to collect these funds.

Will the politicians be honest enough to have the US citizens understand the difference, and make their choice?

Probably not.
