I can't wait to hear the Pentagon's reaction to that bit of nonsense; since the article doesn't even mention US Army infantry, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

I'd go look up total US force levels in various branches to compare to these numbers but it's too silly to bother. When was the last time we put 690,000 troops anywhere? The highest troop levels in Vietnam weren't that high.
