Its that I don't think they pose a threat to the US or Israel.

??

What do you think they mean when they refer the US as "the Great Satan" and their legislature chants "Death to America!" after every session?

If Iran is not anti-American, which country is?

The only reason that they may not currently be a threat to America is capability, and they appear to be attempting to build the capability (nuclear weaponry) to become a threat.

Furthermore, their current government is a threat to the American way of life. The Iranian government rules in its own best interest, and not in the interest of its people. It's America's duty to oppose such a system.

Thx for the honest answers. The one thing I think you did not take into account is Iran's sponsorship of terrorism. This is the nexus that has the entire West, including Europe, fearful. Iran on its own with a nuke would only be a threat to Israel, because they know a conflict with the west would be terminal for Iran. But what the West fears is Iran passing nuke tech to terrorists. Everyone, even France, will admit that Iran has sponsored terrorism as a central part of their influence-mongoring in the Middle East. Today, they are the world's largets sponsor of terror. I wouldn't trust any country that sponsors terror with a nuke.

I barely trust the U.S. with a nuke. I think that poster who said we should be trying to eliminate nukes among the bad actors first and then work more on ourselves, said it best.
