You can't reconstruct when the loser refuses to live in peace. Reconstruction requires peace. America was able to reconstruct Germany and Japan, because they accepted defeat and then worked with us to rebuild. The Palestinians have never accepted defeat and have continue to attack Israelis for 40 years since that war. Reconstruction has been impossible. To blame Israel for the plight of the Palestinians is to ignore the fair share of the blame the Palestinians themselves should own up to.
