Your survey actually supports my position, but it makes a much weaker case for it then I would. I've seen other information that suggest much more support but even if we accept your data, the percentage is still higher and "Its very likely that 56% number has gone down since that survey" isn't hard facts or something that is contained in the study.

Also the 56% was not for "I support what we are doing in Iraq", but rather for approval of "of Bush’s handling of Iraq.".

In addition to that slight majority supporting the way Bush has handled Iraq, you have other who support the cause, who support what is being done in Iraq, but think Bush has made mistakes in execution and planning.

In fact your link shows just that. Its 65% that support the decision according to your link.

"Sixty-five percent of those in the Military Times Poll said the situation in Iraq was worth going to war over; a Gallup poll found public support at 59 percent."
