If there were high enough fatality rates in congested urban areas, it might create labor shortages as well.

In western countries especially it will put a huge strain on already overburdened health care costs.


If it is fatal at a rate of 60% to 70%, then it would kill about 2 out of every 3 Social Security recipients, thus making the Social Security trust fund solvent forever.

Of course, it would also reduce the value of shares by about 70%, since the number of consumers would also fall.

The economic consequences are mind boggling
