That is indeed very sad news. I seem to recall that he was a relatively young man.

How very sad. I'll really miss him. A lot of the intellectural firepower of SI is gone.

Thanks for posting that.

Hi Tim,
If there is any way we can express our condolences to the family by letting him know how important NC was to many of us at SI, please let us know on both threads. I had numerous private pm sessions with NC. He was really a great guy. I lost an ex-co-worker last week, also out of the blue and i am devastated by this news today. mike

This is terrible news! He was such a nice man. So difficult for his family, too.

Thanks for letting us know Tim. Neo's passing is such a loss for us, and I can't even imagine how large it is for his wife and family. Always the gentleman. Wonder if his wife knows that as soon as she came home, he was off SI to great her, and be with her.

Neocon will be missed. He was one of the most tactful, and knowledgeable, posters I have ever encountered on SI. His loss is a loss to every thread he ever posted on.

I wish the best for you, and your Son.

have some sad news...

That's depressing. I didn't always agree with Neo when it came to politics but he was always a gentleman. In his dealings with disparate people and groups on SI he was not a follower. In the various spats on SI, friends would try drag him into their camp. He followed his own inner vector in those situations. That’s what I appreciated about Neo. I always wanted to meet him. It's a shame that I'll not have a chance to do that now. I miss him already.

Give my condolences to the family.

This is very sad news.

Neocon was one of my favorite people here at SI. I had many discussions with him over the years and I always got a lot more than I gave (probably because Neocon knew about 100 times more than I did on the vast majority of subjects).

He will be missed.
