He sounded like a wonderful father, a caring husband, and it is clear he will be missed. I too. I was lucky. Very lucky. He wasn't. He and I had a few differences but basically he was a good guy. I'm sure you would have been missed too. By some. Others might have a party.

If you can live by that statement, you will find many of us willing to start over with you. Just for the record, I don't think you can. I agree whole heartedly with: “That does not mean that you don't demean, ridicule, malign or intentionally insult individuals, & groups of people. And it does not mean you don't look down on, talk down to, dismiss out of hand, vilify &/or berate individuals or groups of people who just do not happen to be in lockstep with your POV's.” (wstera 02) And this Randian quote that joe likes to post: “Those who boggle at strong language are cowards, because it is real life which is shocking to them, and weaklings like that are the very people who cause most harm to culture and character.” The latter quote expressing eloquently the burr that you place in my paw. Terms of truce: Ideas are fair game personal character is not. I figure you will not be able to keep from personalizing your discussion… we’ll see.
