If we are designed in God's image and likeness, then God couldn't be the designer of us. Why? If you were a genius at robotics and computer design and you built androids you could build them in your image and likeness. You would be both the designer and builder. Perhaps your point is that if something is built in God's likeness than the pattern already exists so God isn't really designing it but likeness doesn't mean exact copy and there still is design work involved, as my example shows.
