Maybe they have and you missed it. In any case, I am surprised that they would use Abu Mazen in articles discussing political business. Its my understanding the Abu nom is an informal name used among family and friends, and not in public circles. After all, I never heard Arafat's Abu name. Most Americans would not even pick up on the fact that Abbas has two names. We are so unfamiliar with Arabic names that they would probably think they are two different people.
